Gornto Springs

Gornto Springs is a second-magnitude natural spring in Dixie County, Florida, and a longtime local favorite for swimming, picnicking, boating, and overnight camping. Managed by Dixie County, the spring stays a refreshing 72°F year-round and forms a clear blue pool about 30 to 40 feet wide and 125 feet long before flowing into the Suwannee River. Visitors can enjoy easy water access with steps on both sides, a viewing platform, picnic shelters, restrooms, a small sandy beach, a boat ramp with river access, and camping that makes it easy to extend your stay. With its mix of natural beauty and family-friendly outdoor amenities, Gornto Springs is a great place to relax, cool off, and enjoy the Suwannee River side of Dixie County. 

Hinton Landing

Hinton Landing is a family-friendly outdoor park in Dixie County, located at the end of CR 317 in Old Town, with easy access to the Suwannee River. Popular with families, anglers, boaters, campers, and outdoor enthusiasts, Hinton Landing features picnic areas, a boat ramp, docks leading out to the river, and a playground area where kids can enjoy time outside. Visitors can launch for a day on the water, relax by the river, or cast a line from the fishing pier, making it a great spot for Suwannee River fishing and easygoing Florida adventures. The park also offers overnight camping for both tents and RVs, giving guests more time to enjoy the peaceful riverfront setting. Hinton Landing is one of the best places to experience the natural side of Dixie County.
