Gornto Springs
Gornto Springs, also known as Guaranto Springs, is a second-magnitude natural spring located in Dixie County, Florida, and has long been a favorite gathering spot for locals who enjoy its simple charm as a “plain ol’ swimming hole.” Owned and managed by the county, the spring flows at a refreshing 72°F year-round, forming a clear, blue oblong pool about 30 to 40 feet wide and 125 feet long before draining into the Suwannee River. The pool is about 10 feet deep at the vent, with steps on both sides and a viewing platform on the south end, making it ideal for swimming and relaxing. Visitors can access the park at 2463 NE 816 Avenue (County Road 353) in Old Town, Florida, via CR 349 and Rock Sink Church Road, where the park’s facilities include a boat ramp to the Suwannee River, picnic shelters, restrooms, a small sandy beach, and ample parking. Combining natural beauty with convenient amenities, Gornto Springs offers a perfect blend of recreation, relaxation, and scenic river access.
